Work is important to our well-being. Not only does it bring us income, it can also give us the opportunity to feel productive, which can be good for our self-esteem.

This short video explores the importance of being able to understand your own mental health conditions and encourage you to connect with others and reach out for support. The video also teaches us how to get resources and help, whether we are employees, employers, families or friends.

As we begin to discern the various choices we have in search of a job that really suits us, there are a few important factors we have to thoroughly examine. One important objective to keep in mind will be that finding a meaningful and suitable vocation can help us build up our self-esteem, which is crucial to our recovery.

Knowing effective avenues for our job search and knowing how to identify industries that are suitable for our personality type are also important. Besides this, we also need to be able to equip ourselves with the necessary qualifications and training, and learn good stress management in order to work productively. Other important factors to consider in our job search will be considerations about disclosing our mental health conditions at work, and how best to communicate our work related needs to our healthcare professionals, and vice-versa.

Details of the online workshop on this topic and others are at the link below. We encourage you to join and benefit from these sessions.
